FORT LAUDERDALE/DAVIE, Fla. – Pizza. Key Lime. Apple. Ala mode.

These are just a few of the “pies” we know and love. But every March, there’s another one that comes long that spurs the imaginations of math fans – Pi Day. Yup, March 14 is fast approaching, and Nova Southeastern University (NSU) is celebrating!

Oh, if you didn’t know, it’s Pi Day as Pi is 3.14, which, you guessed it, is 3/14 (March 14.) Math folks are so ingenious!

Anyway, we would love for you to come to NSU’s campus at noon on Tuesday, March 14 where we will be celebrating with pizza and various dessert pies, while we celebrate all things Pi. The celebration is at NSU’s Parker Building, 3190 SW 74th Terrace, Davie (Main Campus.)

The NSU Math Club is hosting the soiree, which will feature a few math-related activities, including the “Mental Math Challenge.”

This competition isn’t for the faint of heart – contestants must wiz through a series of math questions in their head (no phones, calculators, pencils or paper for this challenge). The student who answers the most questions correctly will be the Pi Winner (and no, they will not get a whipped cream pie in the face!)

This is a fun, light-hearted story showing students at Broward County’s hometown university celebrating and enjoying math in a fun way!  So come on out and enjoy a slice of pie with your Pi!
