For nearly a decade, marine research scientists have been dealing with Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease, which is decimating the coral reef tract here in Florida and on reefs across the Caribbean. If the disease wasn’t already causing havoc, the dramatic increases in temperatures this year have accelerated the spread of SCTLD.

NBC6 Miami featured researchers at Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Halmos College of Arts and Sciences who have been working feverishly to help save whatever corals they can from this fatal disease. You can check out the story ONLINE.
