Nine NSU Business Students Took Home International Honors

In April, nine HCBE students attended the Collegiate DECA International Career Development Conference to vie for honors in one of 25 competitions.

The International Career Development Conference gives students the opportunity to integrate classroom learning with real-world experiences. Collegiate DECA provides opportunities for both personal and professional growth through leadership development, community involvement, and competitive events. These conferences help provide students with unique access to internships, scholarships, and professional networking.

This Year’s Conference Highlights:

  • NSU achieved Presidential Level (the highest tier) in the Chapter Leadership Passport Program and was the only Florida chapter to do so.
  • Jonathan Boulanger placed 7th (out of 35) in Entrepreneurship – Starting A Business Prepared Business Presentation.
  • Ashley Trejos was a Finalist and placed 7th in the Sales Management Meeting Individual Case Study.
  • Leedia Valler was a Finalist and received one of the best Preliminary roleplay scores in the Financial Accounting Individual Case Study.
  • Sydni Smaller was a Finalist in the Restaurant and Food Service Management Individual Case Study.
  • Connor Hipp achieved one of the highest exam scores in the Corporate Finance Individual Case Study.

Congratulations HCBE DECA Members!
