Huizenga Business Innovation Academy Students Graduate with Honors from Farquhar Honors College

Undergraduate applicants who pursue the Huizenga Business Innovation Academy (HBIA) Program are driven. They have to be to qualify for admission into the highly competitive 3+1 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree program. With a focus on entrepreneurship and innovation, HBIA students are held to high standards of performance and in return, benefit from a very personalized and immersive learning experience.

Three HBIA students are so driven that they also applied to – and graduated from – the NSU Farquhar Honors College. Students in the Farquhar Honors College must maintain a 3.5 GPA, complete a rigorous slate of Honors coursework, and participate in numerous workshops and events.

Jonathan Boulanger, NSU GraduateJonathan Boulanger
Jonathan graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Entrepreneurship Major, Venture Creation & Property Management Minor from NSU. He was president of the NSU Collegiate DECA and a founding member of the Crypto Club. Jonathan cofounded an on-campus student-run business, Fin Time Pros, that assists college students in improving their productivity, time management, and life skills.

A Finance major graduate, Valeria minored in Economics, Entrepreneurship, Venture Creation, and Interdisciplinary Studies. She cofounded Fintastic Tacos, a student-run business focusing on fresh, convenient, and authentic Mexican cuisine. As an Honors Advocate, Valeria worked at Honors College recruitment and orientation events, including the Shark Preview Honors Reception, to increase student awareness of honors activities at NSU.

Julianne ManganoJulianne Mangano, NSU Graduate
A first-generation college student, Julianne is Huizenga College of Business and Entrepreneurship’s 2022 Outstanding Student of the Year. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Julianne launched Shark Kits, the most successful on-campus business in the history of the Shark Cage Program. On campus, she is involved in Delta Phi Epsilon, the Presidents 64, and the HCBE Dean’s Student Advisory Board, and she serves as President of the Strategic Forum Student Group – all while maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Julianne is pursuing her M.S. in Real Estate Development.
