FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – It’s that time of year again – time to celebrate all things pie, or pi, as it were. Yup, Pi Day is here! What does that mean, exactly?
In mathematical terms, pi is usually represented as 3.14, which corresponds to March 14. In observance of the day, Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) math club will conduct various math-related activities (including Mental Math Bingo) and give out free pie (pizza and dessert)!
“Every year pi day provides us with a way to celebrate math, have some fun and recognize how important math is in all of our lives,” said Jason Gershman, Ph.D., chair and associate professor in NSU’s Department of Mathematics.
We’d love for you to come to NSU’s campus at noon on Thursday, March 14. We’ll mark the occasion with free pizza and dessert pies while we celebrate all things Pi(e). The event is at NSU’s Parker Building, 3190 SW 74th Terrace, Davie (Main Campus).
