Nova Southeastern University and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital is hosting “A Day For Children” on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2025.
The event, which has been a Davie community staple since its inception in 2002, aims to provide free health testing and resources for children from birth to 16 years old. This health literacy event is powered by our partnerships with healthcare providers such as Joe DiMaggio’s Children Hospital and Baptist Health.
For the first time in the event’s history, Joe DiMaggio’s Children Hospital will provide free health screenings on their mobile health center bus. Several attendees will also be entertained with activities from Young at Art, Preggo Dance, This Is Improv, face-painting from Top Hat Entertainment, and a live circus performance from Florida Children’s Theater and singing from the The Girl Choir of South Florida.
Additionally, guests can interact with various members of the community, such as the Broward County Sheriff’s Mounted Police and the Davie Fire Rescue Department, who will be accompanied by first responder support dogs.
Community celebrity Miss Penny from South Florida PBS KidVision will also make a special appearance, along with free refreshments by Hungry Howie’s Pizza of Davie.
Guests can also redeem a Book Buck for one free book for your child, which includes a great selection of chapter books, graphic novels, and picture books.
