Dr. Kiran C. Patel has been named Floridian of the Year by Florida Trend. The magazine recognized Dr. Patel’s philanthropic labor and noted the multiple donations he and his wife, Dr. Pallavi Patel, have given to numerous causes and organizations in the state of Florida.

In September 2017, the Patels committed $200 million to Nova Southeastern University. The commitment from The Patel Family Foundation includes a $50 million gift and an additional $150 million real estate and facility investment in a 325,000 square-foot medical education complex that will be part of NSU’s new Tampa Bay Regional Campus in Clearwater, FL.
