If you google “Federal Reserve Doomsday Book” right now, you will find HCBE Professor of Finance Emre Kuvvet repeatedly referenced and heralded for his success in obtaining the infamous book.
In December, The Wall Street Journal published Professor Emre Kuvvet‘s account of his request to obtain a copy of the Doomsday Book, under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). This was Kuvvet’s second attempt. He previously requested a copy from the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, which they denied. This time, his FOIA request to the New York Federal Reserve was successful.
Since his article titled, “Sun Shines on Fed ‘Doomsday Book’,” was published, Kuvvet’s FOIA request and the Doomsday Book itself have sparked a steady stream of published analyses and commentary with a sense of intrigue, and applause for Kuvvet. A link to the Doomsday Book (complete with redactions) is provided in Kuvvet’s article and many others.
