NSU Library Exhibit Details Holocaust as Mass Murder Model

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – “Holocaust by Bullets: 10 Years of Investigation,” an exhibition by Yahad-In Unum based on research in Eastern Europe, is on display at Nova Southeastern University’s Alvin Sherman Library from March 16 through May 5.

This exhibit has been brought to Broward County by the Craig and Barbara Weiner Holocaust Museum of South Florida at NSU.

Yahad-In Unum is a French organization founded to locate the sites of mass graves of Jewish victims of Nazi mobile-killing units.

The exhibit underscores the “Holocaust by Bullets” as a precursor and model for mass murder crimes today. It also showcases the painstaking research uncovering the step-by-step nature of the crimes committed against Jews and Roma by the Nazi units.

“Holocaust by Bullets” is built around the five steps of the crime identified by Yahad-In Unum based on eyewitness accounts:

  1. The Arrest
  2. The Road
  3. The Undressing
  4. The Shooting
  5. The Looting

The steps are described through quotes from eyewitness testimonies and through archival photographs. A short summary defining each step and highlighting the criminal nature of  “Holocaust by Bullets” is provided on an introductory panel.

The library is at 3100 Ray Ferrero Jr. Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, Davie, Fla., and is open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
