During 2018, an NSU research team led by Nancy Klimas, M.D., was awarded an $8.5 million grant by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) for establishment of the Gulf War Illness National Clinical Trials and Interventions Consortium (GWICTIC). The GWICTIC serves as a mechanism for clinical trials based on several years of research and clinical expertise, furthering the understanding and treatment of Gulf War Illness.
