Dedicated to offering relevant and up-to-the-minute education for students engaged in an ever-changing business landscape, NSU’s Huizenga College of Business & Entrepreneurship proudly announces four new graduate programs.
Introduced in Winter 2022, two of these programs focus on sustainability: the M.S. in Finance and Sustainability and the M.S. in Sustainable Digital Marketing.
The two newest degree offerings are the M.S. in Professional Practice Management and the M.S. in Business Agility and Innovation.
M.S. in Professional Practice Management
The M.S. in Professional Practice Management (M.S.P.P.M.) curriculum is designed to provide leadership and managerial skills focused on professional practice administration: hiring, managing and retaining talent, optimizing operations, growing a client base, marketing, technology acquisition and implementation, controlling cost, and improving quality.
The M.S.P.P.M. has two tracks: 1) general professional practices such as law, accounting, architecture, or engineering; and 2) health/medical practices such as medical, dental, psychology, or optometry. Upon completion of this program, M.S.P.P.M. graduates will possess the skills necessary to manage and operate professional practices, make informed values-based decisions, and raise the bar to better serve others, and advance their professional careers.
As Joseph Chalil, MD, MBA, Chair of the Complex Health Systems Advisory Board at NSU’s College of Business and Entrepreneurship stated, “Medicine is a profession but healthcare is a business. More than ever, physicians need to have business acumen, especially if they manage their own private practices.”
M.S. in Business Agility and Innovation
Today, businesses face increasing external threats of competition and market disruption. The need to innovate and adapt rapidly is more critical than ever. Business agility is how leading businesses become learning organizations that react in a timely way to market and environmental changes and threats.
Leaders in nearly every industry are realizing that the management practices that worked so well in the past are no longer sufficient to meet the challenges and disruptions of today’s business landscape. NSU’s M.S. in Business Agility and Innovation (M.S.B.A.I.) prepares students with the management and leadership knowledge needed to enable organizations to adapt and change the organizational strategy, structure, and culture, innovate and disrupt using business diagnostic and analytical tools, and deliver customized products and services designed to meet changing customer demands.
“It’s one thing to become able to deliver more stuff; it is entirely another thing for that stuff to respond quickly to customers’ needs and to have an instant impact with customers,” notes François Sainfort, Ph.D., NSU’s Chair of Management, Director of Complex Health Systems Program, and Professor.
